A few months back I did a job for the Mud Dock Cafe and Bike Shop. The brief was great as it was very open and I was encouraged to get to know the place then photographs it how I see fit.
I often have a set list of many photos I have done in previous restaurants before to repliacte in some way or another, but tried to not use the list as this job was more about capturing the place and the Story behind this very unique Lifestyle Bike Establishment. It was a bit of a challenge at first as I was trying to go back to the way I used to shoot years ago before taking photos commercially.
After a few Visits I started to get some ideas and thoughts on the people, place and story and then Knew that it would be a great short book documenting the three areas of the establishment – Workshop, cafe and shop.

I have recently had a few jobs doing Office Reportage where clients wanted some realistic photographs of their teams and businesses. These jobs are often combined with more formal headshots which can be seen here
I very much enjoy doing the reportage style photographs as I feel it plays much more to my strengths for taking observed informal photography. I also love black and white photographs as it was what I was largely bought up with through university in Newport.

I had a job a month or two ago photographing The Wilde Bunch which is a Bristol based flower company which caters for Corporate Events and Weddings amongst other things.
Originally I thought we were going to be photographing the Bunches of flowers on their own to show the vast array of colours and dexterity of the range of bunches themselves. But when we came close to the shoot we started planning something a bit more creative and something which would stand out from the crowd and competitors – something which hadnt been done for a flower company before.
The shoot was going to be a 50 pin up style story with a James Dean type character who was in trouble with his girlfriend/wife for being in the pub while she was waiting at home. Then he rings the Wilde Bunch to arrange an order for flowers to apologise.
Each shot was storeyboarded and planned to fit as a story in a retro style promotional publication.
And here are some photos of the flower bunches themselves.
Please feel free to contact The Wilde Bunch if you have an event which needs flowers.

This is one Job I have completed recently which I am particularly happy with of and haven’t posted anything on it for quite a while as the product had not been released until recently.
Ayrtek are leaders in their field (excuse the pun) in making lightweight cricket helmets. The Job involved 3 shoots of mixed media; one shoot with famous ex England Batsman Vikram Solanki who wears Ayrtek Helmets, one shoot was the product itself both packshots and more moody atmospheric photographs for advertising and the last shoot was a video which was very well put together, edited and finished by my client.
Below is a selection of the packshots and moody advertising images.

The Second shoot was done in a makeshift studio in the Worcester Couty Cricket Ground chnaging Room with ex England opening Batsman Vikram Solanki. He was really helpful and gave me alot of time and was great in front of the camera.
Below is a selection of the images from Vikram

The last part of the shoot was a video in a local cricket ground in Bristol. I am happy with the result as was very well directed and edited by the team at Mr B and Friends.
