Finished a job a few weeks ago for The George Inn with Ravenswood Media. The George is a large traditional looking pub in Wedmore just outside Bristol, however when you get inside it is full of really quirky interiors and boutique accommodation rooms. It was great to photograph as every room had many interesting and different points of interest.

I will definitely have to go back there in summer as they serve great food and have a great looking beer garden. Highly recommended for a day out as the food is also made to a very high standard as seen below.

A few months back I did a job for the Mud Dock Cafe  and Bike Shop. The brief was great as it was very open and I was encouraged to get to know the place then photographs it how I see fit.

I often have a set list of many photos I have done in previous restaurants before to repliacte in some way or another, but tried to not use the list as this job was more about capturing the place and the Story behind this very unique Lifestyle Bike Establishment. It was a bit of a challenge at first as I was trying to go back to the way I used to shoot years ago before taking photos commercially.

After a few Visits I started to get some ideas and thoughts on the people, place and story and then Knew that it would be a great short book documenting the three areas of the establishment – Workshop, cafe and shop.

I recently did a great food shoot for well known food stylist and author Genevieve Taylor. She has done many high profile food shoots with some very well known food photographers and authored a book called Stew and writes a blog called An Egg a Day which will also be a book soon.

Food photography is something which I really enjoy doing so I jumped at the chance to get some new food photographs to update my portfolio with pictures in a more modern (or rustic!) style. Doing a test shoot like this is a good exchange as I get access to photograph a dish with all the recipe development and cooking done to a professional standard and Genevieve gets a range of food and recipe/process photographs for the blog/any other use.

After having done many editorial food photographs telling the story of food producers I was very happy photographing the ingredients being picked and prepared from the garden and felt at home taking these photographs. The blog is full of great recipes with fresh egg from Genevieve’s chickens and other vegetables/fruits from the garden.

I have had a bit of time on my hands recently so have collated a load of photographs from the archives and made a specific restaurant portfolio. I have photographed so many restaurants in the past I cant really remember how many or which ones but its fair to say I am quite confident making pictures within cafes and restaurants so I decided to make this as a promo to try and get a bit of work for the high end local eateries.

I have just finished putting together a Food Photography Portfolio Book. Its quite long but im happy with it as there are many areas of food I have photographed. The book follows the raw ingredients all the way to the plate and shows every step along the way.
